Adoration

Perpetual Adoration Chapel

At St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Thornhill, our Perpetual Adoration Chapel stands as a sacred space for continuous prayer and devotion before the Blessed Sacrament. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it offers parishioners the opportunity to spend quiet, uninterrupted time in the presence of Christ.

History and Establishment

The Perpetual Adoration Chapel was inaugurated on March 3, 1985, under the guidance of Fr. Francis Geremia, C.S., a Scalabrinian priest committed to fostering a deeper Eucharistic devotion within the parish community. This initiative was part of the parish's broader mission to cultivate a vibrant spiritual life centered around the Eucharist.

Commitment to Continuous Prayer

Since its inception, the chapel has been maintained through the dedication of parishioners who volunteer to keep watch over the Eucharist. Each hour of the day is accounted for, ensuring that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended. This commitment reflects the parish's deep reverence for the Eucharist and the importance of constant prayer in the life of the Church.

Spiritual Significance

The Perpetual Adoration Chapel serves as a spiritual anchor for the parish, providing a place for personal reflection, intercession, and communion with God. It embodies the teachings of the Church, emphasizing the real and substantial presence of Christ in the Eucharist and the call to adore Him in spirit and truth.
